I pray everyone had a blessed Christmas, and a wonderful New Year. We did! My kids were spoiled beyond measure. Our family went to Oklahoma for Christmas, which doesn't happen very often, and for some reason I suppose family felt that they needed to over-do on the presents. But the kids had fun, and really enjoyed the trip. I was so ready to be home, back in my bed, back to the normal day of life.
I hope everyone ate their black-eyed peas this year. 2012 is going to be a fantastic year! I'm so excited about this blogging journey, and for the new chapter in my families lives. I hope everyone got their papers Sunday, 4 inserts!!! Couponing has really exploded in the past year! But what a joy it is to be able to provide for your family and for others. I snagged some great FREEBIES, before the end of the year that will make great additions to my donate stock!
While in Oklahoma, I scored some great deals on some fruits and veggies and brought them home. Most of the bananas I froze for banana breads later on, as well as the broccoli, but the 16lbs of apples I made into applesauce yesterday! It was so good! I didn't add sugar, only cinnamon, and the kids absolutely loved it! I had to stop them from eating it, or I wasn't going to have any to preserve! I started canning spring of 2011, and let me tell you, it has been so much fun! Kind of how saving money with coupons is. We had a garden this summer, and I was able to preserve, freeze, and save so much money. For Christmas presents, I made relish and apple jelly, and some homemade candies. Apparently, it was a hit!
I'm looking forward to sharing more great grocery finds, on-line deals, and expand my store match-ups! Couponing in 2012 is going to be HUGE, so get ready for some amazing savings!!!!
Julie
